Case Study
How Acorn Life got its dependency mapping done, and keeps it current.
To meet DORA, Acorn Life had to map its dependencies and identify concentration risks. resimate brought its process maps, application data and existing analysis into one connected view, mapped together with Acorn Life’s team.

“To meet the regulatory requirements, we had to map our dependencies and identify concentration risks. With resimate, I got it done.”

The Challenge
Dependency mapping you can’t keep current by hand
Andrea Manning, CISO at Acorn Life, needed to meet DORA and operational resilience requirements. That meant mapping dependencies and identifying concentration risks. The groundwork existed, but it sat in spreadsheets and diagrams.
Mapping dependencies once is hard. Keeping the map up to date by hand is close to impossible. She needed to know which systems and suppliers support each service, prepare repeatable scenario tests, and explain what a technology disruption means for the business.
Other vendors’ proposals meant three to six months of implementation plus a separate fee. She couldn’t commit to a project that long.

The Approach
From spreadsheets to dynamic BCPs
resimate’s team took Acorn Life’s existing material and connected services, processes, applications, teams and suppliers into one end-to-end view. Acorn Life confirmed the relationships and closed the gaps. The dependency map stays current, and the continuity plans build on it.
Andrea was buying best practice as much as software: a proven way to map dependencies end to end, with onboarding support included and no separate implementation fee.

“I was buying your best practice. You had the solution that does the dependency mapping, which is something you can’t do manually and keep up to date.”

The first value
Resilience the business can see.
Dependency mapping that stays current.
Existing analysis became a living map, kept up to date in one place.
Concentration risk in plain sight.
Systems and suppliers shared by several critical services show up at once.
Impact leadership understands.
Blast Radius connects a technology disruption to the services and customers it hits.
For Andrea, Blast Radius was the moment the value became clear. She could pick a disruption and see what it would take down, then explain it to business stakeholders and regulators.
The visual view also brought colleagues outside the resilience team into the conversation. The discussion moved from technology on its own to the services and customers that depend on it.
